Upcoming Guild of the
Florida Grand Opera Luncheon
Don’t Miss It!

Sir Ron Wetherington recently hosted a luncheon at the Surf Club for the Guild of the Florida Grand Opera. The committee dined on sticky buns and scrumptious salads while planning the upcoming installation of officers luncheon for the Guild of the Florida Grand Opera, November 11, 2004. Beautiful arrangements of summer flowers were provided by Warehouse of Petals.

Tie a string around your finger and remember the date for the Guild kick-off luncheon at 11am on November 11, at the Surf Club. Justin Moss will act as the Master of Ceremonies, and Bob Heuer, CEO, will install the Guild officers. Fabulous songs and wonderful surprises are in store for the guests.

The cost of the luncheon is $50. New members are welcome. For reservations, call Sir Ron Wetherington at 305-868-5516.

“Hail to the Chief” Carol Connors Style

A modern goddess of music, songwriter Carol Connors has been nominated twice for the Academy Awards. After honoring fellow songwriter Elton John in Minneapolis at the Starkey Hearing Foundation Gala, she flew nonstop to Ft. Lauderdale to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for a special performance.

Carol sang her stirring version of “America the Beautiful” for the greater Ft. Lauderdale Hospitality Association and everyone in the audience was impressed. Chief among them was the Seminole Chief Mitchell Cypress, a veteran himself, who said that Carol honored everyone in the room by honoring veterans. Chairman of the Hospitality Association, Chief Mitchell Cypress gave the keynote address. Carol came to South Florida for a television shoot in the Keys along with Dennis Cole, a new resident of Ft. Lauderdale. The show bears the name “Keys to Paradise” in production.
