ACTORS NEEDED; AUDITIONS POSTPONED—Mosaic Theatre in Plantation has postponed its auditions for big, the musical to November 21st (7-10) and November 22nd (7-10). Prepare two songs (16 bars), one up-tempo, one ballad and be prepared to dance. Plan on being at the audition for one hour and please bring two headshots with you to the audition. ACTORS NEEDED—Casting is taking place for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams at EDGE Theatre at the Art Temple, 7141 Indian Creek Dr., Miami Beach. Performances are TBA, possibly November – December, 2005. Needed are African-American actors only for dynastic family and Minister. Other parts can be any ethnicity. ACTORS NEEDED—The Alliance Theatre Lab is holding general auditions for its 2005-2006 Theatrical Season. This year’s theme is Contemporary American Playwrights. The plays to be produced are: Savage in Limbo by John Patrick Shanley, Fat Pig by Neil Labute and Top Dog – Under Dog by Susan Lorie Parks. The following types are needed: Male actors between the ages of 18 to 50 and female actors between the ages of 20 to 40. The auditions will be held at the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes. TEEN FILMMAKERS NEEDED—The 9th annual Miami Jewish Film Festival student project needs teen filmmakers 14-18 years old, to create original pieces that will be screened at this year’s event January 21- 29, 2006. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED—TREEmendous Miami needs volunteers to help plant trees for the elderly and disabled in Miami-Dade County. Many people have signed up for trees and are waiting for them to be planted. We're seeking organizations and or students right away needing Community Service hours. The work is usually done on Saturday mornings for three or four hours about every month.  We will teach you how to plant and care for trees. Volunteers are needed now and on an on-going basis. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED—The Sterling Aventura, Luxury Assisted Living seeks dedicated volunteers of all ages to volunteer and have FUN with a vigorous community of 175 active, bright seniors! Come join us and listen to a group of elderly leaders teach you about life, sharing their stories, experiences and give you wisdom. Volunteer hours can be done any day of the week, 10am – 6pm and are in collaboration with our diverse activities calendar representing 52 hours per week of fun. Activity examples include: playing and or calling Bingo, learning about the Holocaust from survivors, playing music or singing, dancing with a 100-year-old, going on outings to Hard Rock casino, visiting museums, arts and crafts, bead and jewelry making, theatrical plays, gardening and plants, Tai Chi, exercise class or simply sitting/chatting with a senior to help them to smile or create memories. Easter Seals is looking for dedicated people to help make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
